Doctors told Karla, who had been diagnosed with a large cancerous tumor that had spread to other parts of her body, that they could only offer her palliative care. But Jesus performed a miracle and healed her. Here, she shares her experience.
I want to share what Jesus has done for me. In August 2024 I became very ill, I got a big infection in my abdomen (with a blood count of almost 400) and the doctors at Karolinska Hospital in Stockholm discovered that it was due to a tumour that had burst in my abdomen.
The biopsy showed that it was an unusual type of cancer called PEComa which is malignant and incurable. Since it was a large tumour (18 x 12 x 12 cm) with many organs around it, the doctors said that it could not be removed by surgery as it was far too risky. They also found metastases (daughter tumours) in the lymph nodes, and many small cysts in the lungs (which they did not know for sure if they were metastases or a lung disease called LAM) and a pathological change in the throat which they suspected was also connected to the rest.
The oncologist at Uppsala Hospital, who is most specialized in this type of cancer and treatment, raised his hands and said, “This is a miracle!”
They said that the only treatment that had given any good results for this type of cancer was with a medicine (Everolimus) that lowers the immune system and makes it focus on the cancer cells. But they said that this treatment only had a slowing effect, that is, it could only slow the tumour from growing and spreading fast. In a few cases, it might have helped to reduce it a little, but not to remove it – especially not when it was that big. They informed that the treatment was only for palliative purposes.
I was then a 48-year-old woman with a husband and two children. As you can imagine, these news were truly devastating, especially since my daughter was only nine years old. There have been many friends and churches that have prayed for me here in Sweden and in other countries. I prayed with all my heart to God to at least let me live while my children were growing up – until they were at least 20 years old.
Three months later, in December 2024, the new X-rays showed that the tumour had shrunk by about 65%, and new images three months later, from March 25, 2025 showed that 99.5% of the cancer was gone and that no metastases remained. The tumour that at first was big as a melon was reduced to only the size of two blueberries that could be removed surgically. But the doctors thought the surgery was unnecessary since the curve kept showing reduction. In 2026, the tumour has shrunk even further and is barely visible, only one centimetre remains. I also have no symptoms and feel very good.
As you can see in the images: In the first image from August, you can see the tumour (marked with a white line) and how the intestines and other organs had moved to make room for the tumour. In the other two images from March 2025, you can see that the tumour is barely visible to our eyes – only the doctors can see the small piece that remains. The intestines and organs have been moved back to their original position. The oncologist at Uppsala Hospital, who is most specialized in this type of cancer and treatment, raised his hands and said, “This is a miracle!”
The first few months I had some side effects from the medicine, but since November 2024 until now (July 2026) I have felt as good as ever, better than before! I have been energetic, without any issues or symptoms and I have not even had a cold despite the immunosuppressive medicine. Throughout 2025 and 2026 I have been back at work in the high school where I am a teacher and where children and young people with colds, viruses, etc. are often found, but I have not been infected.
I am so incredibly grateful to our Lord Jesus Christ who heard our prayers and how what seemed completely impossible at the beginning – to get rid of such a large incurable tumour plus the metastases – is now gone except for the small piece of one centimetre! I don’t know why God has left that little piece – but God knows best and I believe it will be gone soon too!

The cords of death entangled me; the anguish of the grave came over me; I was overcome by distress and sorrow. Then I called on the name of the Lord: “Lord, save me!” The Lord is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion. The Lord protects the unwary; when I was brought low, he saved me.” Psalm 116: 1-6
“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for.” Hebrews 11:1
“Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” Marcus 11:24
Jesus said: “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.” Matthew 19:26

I want to encourage all of you to never lose hope even when you receive the worst possible news and everything seems completely impossible. For God, nothing is impossible and time and again we find in His Word stories of humanly impossible situations. But God helped, and our Lord is the same yesterday, today and forever! His help was not only on a physical level, but He was able to give me and our family peace, hope and even joy during this hard period – when you know you can trust Him.
I want to express gratitude and give all the glory to our Lord Jesus Christ who is the one who determines how many days our life has – no matter what circumstances arise, He can use different ways to help us and fulfil His wonderful plans in our life!
